From the 101 take Telegraph Road and turn away from the ocean.  Drive until you reach Kimball.  Turn left and then turn right onto Loma Vista.  The park is on the right.  To park, you will want to take the first right and park along the street in front of the park's entrance.

July News Letter

Parents welcome to the July issue of the Ventura Heat News Letter! We want everyone to be aware of some upcoming “Ventura Heat” events and keep everyone informed of what is happening with the HEAT. After reading this news letter if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Coach Gabe. As always, we are happy to answer any questions or discuss your concerns.

August Break

As most of you are aware, each August we take 3 or so weeks off. We do this for a number of reasons. (1). It allows families to take vacations before school starts. (2). It allows everyone to get all their school shopping done. (3). It allows the kids to get there first week or so of school under the belt before thinking of basketball. (4). for those that play football, August is the month that teams do there 6 days a week practices. Our break allows them to focus just on football that month. And last but not least, it gives us a reason to throw a big party!!! This year’s break is from July 26th to August 29th.

Ventura Heat BBQ

This is an event we have every year and “in our opinion” is a must attend. We ask that every family attend this great event and encourage the whole family to attend. We try to make the BBQ an action packed event! Some of the things we have planned this year are: (1). Food, Food and More Food!!! (2). The always popular Player Awards. (3). The Coaches will tell great stories about the players of stuff that had happened during the past year. (4). The players officially move up to the next grade level. Don’t miss the event this year! The Ventura Heat BBQ will be held on Sunday August 29 th 12pm – 3pm at Juanamaria Park.

Ventura Heat BBQ Pot Luck

At the BBQ we ask every family to bring a dish. My wife Arlene will handle keeping track of what everyone will bring (the Coaches could not run the Heat without her!). Please keep an eye out for information on the BBQ on the Heat Website. We will have a link showing what everyone is bringing and who is coming, that way when you call you will know what we need. August Dues

We will be handling August due different. We are asking everyone to pay $30 to go toward supples and Meat for the BBQ. You also have the option to get the Ventura Heat Photo Package, which is highlighted by the Player Poster that is very cool. You can find a sample on the website. That Photo Packet is an another $30 if you would like to get it. Please pay the $30 for the BBQ and if you want the Photo Package another $30. Money is due by Sunday July 25th!

1 on 1 Training with Coach Gabe

For those that may not have seen the website announcement, Coach Gabe is now offering 1 on 1 training for any player, Heat or Non-Heat that wants to improve their game. This training will be held out doors and can be done most any time of the day. The price for Heat players are $20 for one hour. Also in the month of August my son Ryan will do Ball Handling 1 on 1's for same price. If you are interested please e-mail or call me.
